Tesco's decision to move some of its logistics operations in-house has led to 150 DHL Exel Supply Chain employees being made redundant.

Following a consultation with DHL staff and union representatives, DHL's Fastway site at Daventry, Northants, will close on 27 March.

DHL has been able to redeploy 150 staff, but the remaining 150 positions have been made redundant.

A  company spokeswoman says: "As a result of the strategic review by Tesco to move part of its supply chain operations in-house, DHL will no longer be providing services to the company from its Fastway site."

The logistics group says it will provide support for those affected and would like to thank staff for their ongoing dedication during the consultation.
