Grocontinental is to be the main sponsor for the Whitchurch Mini Rugby Festival 2009, which kicks off on Sunday 19 April and will include nearly 50 junior teams from across Shropshire, Cheshire and north Wales.
Under the deal, the festival will now be known as the Grocontinental Mini Rugby Festival.
Linda Grocott, joint managing director of Grocontinetal, says: "Despite the tough economic climate, we feel that as a local business, it is important to continue to support the community.
"A lot of our workforce and their families are from Whitchurch, many of whom are connected to the rugby club, and we are therefore pleased to be able to support their efforts by sponsoring this festival."
Employing almost 300 people from its purpose-built 25-acre site only a mile from the rugby 
club, Grocontinental is Whitchurch's largest employer.
