Online freight exchange Teleroute has launched a pay-as-you-go service aimed at owner-drivers and small haulage firms. The firm says its Teleroute GO system allows hauliers to register and pay online, just for the jobs they are interested in, rather than signing up to a monthly subscription.
Users can choose between the pre-paid payment option, Teleroute GO Flex, or the post-paid payment service, Teleroute GO Comfort. Teleroute GO informs customers about a potential 100,000 freight offers a day via instant alerts, through SMS or fax.
It also provides route planning and company contact information. Teleroute says only certified transport companies that go through its vetting process are able to search for loads and advertise their services.
Raimundo Diaz, Teleroute chief executive, says: "Many owner-drivers and small hauliers have seen a decrease in profit as long-term contracts are being cancelled and customers look to re-negotiate, while their fixed costs still remain.
"We have launched Teleroute GO to help address these issues. "It has been designed specifically to help the smaller operators find reliable business partners and suitable freight offers, at the best price."
