Up to 30 DHL staff in Scotland may face redundancy

17 April 2009

There could be up to 30 redundancies at DHL Exel Supply Chain following a consultation over changes to shifts and positions.

DHL has completed a 30-day consultation with employees at the Langlands Park site in East Kilbride, which supplies Sainsbury's.

A DHL spokeswoman says: "We are now consulting with approximately 30 staff regarding changes to their shift timings or to offer alternative positions in the warehouse.  We hope that the majority will accept the new arrangements and that there will be a minimum number of redundancies."

The logistics group says the trade union is in support of its plans.

The announcement follows DHL redundancies in Northamptonshire and Manchester.
