Bellshill, Lanarkshire-based Murray Logistics has leftpallet network Fortec after two-and-half years to join Palletways. The decision was based on Palletways offering the 12-truckfirma better postcode choice, and a90-palletper day average compared withFortec's 50.
MD Stewart Murray Hargreave says:"With Palletways, 65% of our destinations are now within a six-mile radius, whereaspreviously therange wasa lot higher. This saves us money by giving us more work closer to home."
Murray is the third member to leave Fortec this year:Spalding, Lincs-based Garn Transport switched toPalletline, and Littlehampton-based Bleach of Lavantmoved across toPalletforce.A Fortec spokeswoman says the PE postcode serviced by Garn is being covered bynew member Apex Bourne Parcels and existing licensee IP Pallets. She adds that since January three new licensees have joined.
