It's official! The DAF XF is the 'Best Truck Ever', as decided by UK drivers. In a poll conducted by Commercial Motor's sister publication Truck & Driver, DAF's flagship tractor came out as the clear winner, beating all the usual old-time favourites.
"As expected, we received plenty of votes from misty eyed old drivers who
still hanker after classics such as the Atki Borderer and Scania 111," says T&D's editor, Will Shiers, "so it was a surprise to see that the top prize actually went to a truck that's still in production today."
Second and third places were held by the Volvo F88 and Scania 143 respectively. The full results are published in Truck & Driver's 25th anniversary issue (in the shops now).
