Building trade supplier Wolseley UK is to close its Ripon, North Yorkshire distribution centre (DC), resulting in six redundancies.
The announcement comes just weeks after the British subsidiary of Wolseley entered a consultation with 60 lorry drivers and 209 warehousing employees to close its Chorley and Didcot DCs in August. A company spokeswoman says the six redundancies at Ripon will mostly be office-based.
Pre-tax profit at the international group as a whole dropped 80% to £72m for the nine months ending 30 April. The firm warns that more job cuts are possible.
