Vehicle tracking firm V-SOL on acquisitions trail

19 June 2009

Vehicle tracking company V-SOL says it is on the acquisitions trail and has the funds in place to acquire a small to medium-sized operation in the sector.

The Leyland, Lancashire-based firm, which provides systems for the Ministry of Defence, EDF Energy, Arqiva, Goldstar Heathrow and Roalco, says it has existing money in place, as well as bank finance, to fund a purchase.

According to managing director David Isom, the transport IT  sector still has growth potential, despite the recent losses at Minorplanet Systems and Causeway's rescue of GlobalLive.

He says: "We are keen to strengthen our market position and customer base. Much has been made of Minorplanet's losses, but the truth is that there is still a lot of potential in this sector for the right companies.

"The market is simply adjusting to economic conditions, and there will be some fallout."
