US manufacturer Heil Trailer International is to close its UK tanker sales and marketing operation from 1 July.
Heil, which designs and manufactures petroleum tanks, dry bulk and stainless tank trailers, will continue operations from the US with warranty, parts and repair in the UK offered through A&R Vehicle Services.
The decision to close the Wednesbury, West Midlands office
- formerly the home of British tanker manufacturer Thompson Carmichael, which Heil acquired in 1998 - is attributed to the current slowdown in the global economic climate and unfavourable currency exchange rates.
A&R Vehicle Services will have direct links with Heil US to ensure continuity of warranty and service support for Heil customers in the UK. It has been the company's service and warranty provider for the last 18 months.
