Northern Ireland-based transport operator McBurney has placed an order for 50 FH-460 tractor units, including a flagship FH16-700.
Scheduled for September delivery, the new 460hp trucks form part of McBurney's fleet renewal programme, and
each one is equipped with an I-Shift automatic gearbox and a Euro-5-compliant 13-litre engine.
In addition to the FH-460s, the operator has also ordered the UK's first FH16-700, which slots into McBurney's specialised line of vehicles.
All 51 trucks will come fitted with Volvo's Dynafleet telematics system that generates reports on any variable from driver performance to fuel usage; and currently 95% of McBurney's 250-vehicle fleet is equipped with the set-up.
The trucks have been purchased on contract maintenance through Dennison Commercials at Ballyclare, and will operate on a variety of general, refrigerated and pallet haulage throughout the UK.
