The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has appointed a new director of operations, Richard Ellithorne.

Ellithorne joins the RHA team from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, where he is head of information forums. He also has considerable operational experience from his work in senior management at a number of large transport and logistics companies.

"I am both  pleased and excited to be joining the RHA as director of operations and look forward to working with [chief executive] Geoff Dunning and the rest of the team developing and managing RHA services and third-party relationships, as well as co-ordinating an effective recruitment campaign for the RHA," he says.

Ellithorne takes up his new position at the beginning of September and will be based at the Peterborough office.
