LDV is hopeful of finding a new owner after it emerged that the van-maker is in talks with "one party exclusively".
LDV's administrator, Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC), says a Birmingham-based manufacturer is considering its options for restarting some production at LDV's Washwood Heath factory.
A spokeswoman for PwC says: "It would not be appropriate to comment further on the identity of the proposed purchaser at this time, given the confidentiality agreements in place."
At the beginning of May, Weststar agreed to buy the Birmingham-based manufacturer from owner GAZ, subject to due diligence. Following the agreement, the government made available £5m in bridging loans to facilitate the change-over, but the deal fell through.
Nearly all of LDV's 850 employees were made redundant in June following Weststar's failure to raise the £45m needed to purchase the company.
