UK Mail Group has taken a Don-Bur aerodynamic Teardrop trailer on a 12-month trial on a trunking route within its parcels network. The 13.6m tri-axle trailer features full wraparound aerodynamic skirts, and is made from Don-Bur's latest lightweight "Blade" compo-site panels.
"The trailer will be used on a dedicated route with a dedicated tractive unit," says Kevin Webb, UK Mail group fleet engineer. "Fuel consumption will be monitored over the next 12 months and compared with fuel data
for the tractive unit already held on standard trailer use prior to the test."
