Mitie cuts costs with Jaama web software

23 October 2009

Outsourcing and asset management business Mitie claims that introducing Jaama fleet management software has helped it to save "significant amounts of administration time", as well as cut costs.

The Bristol-based company believes Jaama's Key2 vehicle management web software has enabled it to better manage information relating to third-party suppliers such as fuel card specialists and maintenance and vehicle tracking  firms.

Mitie, which operates 3,300 light commercial vehicles, says it plans to introduce extra Key2 modules so it can check driving licence and vehicle documents for employees who use their own cars on business trips.

Justin Patterson, fleet manager at Mitie, says: "We have a significant number of data streams from our many suppliers, and the Jaama system manipulates all that information into a format we require, so we can distribute it to our management centres.

"We previously plugged into the online systems of our third-party suppliers for fleet information then downloaded data into spreadsheets.

He adds: "That was a hugely time-consuming and laborious process and it did not give us the top-level data we required without significant administrative input."
