Scottish haulier Yuill & Dodds has appointed Bandvulc Tyre Contracts (BTC) to manage the tyres across its fleet of more than 100 trucks and trailers. The deal will see Bandvulc's drive and trailer axle tyres fitted as standard across the fleet, including everything from long-distance artics to eight-wheel tippers.
The operation will also be
supported by Bandvulc's Tyre Support Unit, which operates 24/7 and covers the UK.
Managing director Brian Yuill says: "It is important to us that our suppliers, especially in an area such as tyres, show the same level of versatility and dedication [as our operation]."
Bandvulc's independence was also identified as a factor as it allows it to select from a number of service provider options for thorough coverage and competitive response times.
High street retailer Tesco has also added its Irish operation to the existing UK tyre management business handled by BTC. Bandvulc says this gives it a firm foothold across the Irish Sea, which will allow for expansion.
