Normanton, West Yorks-based electrical goods distribution firm Hi Way Express has added six Volvo FE 18-tonners to its fleet on a five-year contract hire deal worth about £500,000.
They are in addition to six new Scanias the firm, the logistics arm of Hi Group, acquired in October (MT 22 October).
The company chose the Volvos for their unobtrusive image and competitive price. Hi Group MD Andrew Trotter says: "We felt that the Volvo FE is a friendlier vehicle for our brand to
be associated with when working in pedestrianised shopping areas."
Hi Way Express operations manager Graham Foster adds: "They have a comfortable cab and driving position and a good drive-line."
