TDG has won a contract to run a transport and warehousing operation for the UK's largest independent toy retailer, The Entertainer.

The partnership, scheduled to begin in February 2010, will be based at a new 175,000ft2 warehouse in Swindon, Wilts.

In February, the distribution operation for the company's online brands – thetoyshop.com  and thegadgetshop.com – will also relocate from temporary premises in Amersham, Bucks, to a warehouse in nearby Little Chalfont.

The Entertainer currently has 50 stores, and is planning to open another 50 over the next four years.

A spokesman for The Entertainer says: "This announcement signals the start of an exciting period of change for The Entertainer, which has every confidence in TDG's ability to provide and sustain a flexible, high-quality and reliable service to the enlarged group."
