Fiat has released the first images of its forthcoming Doblo Cargo ahead of its expected arrival in the UK in March 2010.
The Doblo Cargo is virtually brand new from the ground up, and rides on a new platform with new styling and technical specification.
The next-generation Doblo Cargo looks striking and will inject some much-needed pizzazz into the compact van market.
The vehicle's front end looks quite rounded and bulbous, with the standout feature being its big front grille and wraparound headlights. The wheel arches also look more pronounced than its predecessor, while the rear has been given a new taillight design and flat 70/30 split rear doors.
Fiat has increased the van's dimensions - it boasts up to 2.2m of interior length and 1.23m (currently 1.20m) available between the wheel arches. Payloads vary from 750kg to one tonne, while load volumes vary between 3.4m3 and 4.2m3.
There's also seven different body types on offer, inlcuding a short- and long-wheelbase van, high-top van, short- and long-wheelbase five-seater combi plus a drop-frame version (also in regular and stretched form) for specialised trades such as refrigeration and tippers. However, there's no word on whether all of these bodystyles will be available in the UK. Prices are yet to be revealed
