Triple A Transport has fallen slightly short of reaching its target of 1,000 members by Christmas for its Return Loads website, but says its membership is growing by around 50 new members a month.
MD Richard Newbold says the haulage exchange site currently has 750 subscribers, with between 650 and 1,000 genuine loads posted daily on the site.
"The site has become the leading haulage exchange site in the country in terms of unique daily hits and quantity of genuine daily loads appearing on the site," he says. "The European version of the site is due to go live early in 2010 and will be free to all existing members."
Cambridge haulier Barry Jackson, owner of Barry Jackson Transport, says he rarely runs his truck empty anywhere since joining Returnloads.com in October.
"All of the work I have been receiving through the site has been of real quality. The only regret I have is why I didn't join sooner," says Jackson. "I am also very impressed with the variation of work. If my own area does not have a lot of available loads on it then I look in a different area so I can get a round trip together."
