PJ Brown enters administration; 150 redundancies made

Thursday 24 December 2009 11:17

West Sussex-based haulier PJ Brown has entered administration, meaning a Christmas redundancy blow for 150 employees.

On 22 December, Phil Armstrong and Ian Vickers of Vantis Business Recovery Services were appointed joint administrators to Crawley-based PJ Brown.

According to Vantis, the firm entered administration as a result of the economic downturn, and 150 redundancies have been made.

VOSA records reveal PJ Brown holds an O-licence for 69 vehicles and one trailer.

Vickers says: "We are working closely with the director to assess the value of realisations from the business, with a view to marketing it for sale for the benefit of the company's creditors."

The administrator confirms that the subsidiary parts of the PJ Brown business group are unaffected and continue to trade as going concerns.
