Suckling Transport managing director Peter Larner has had his first novel published - and it concerns global warming.
Lost in a Hurricane focuses on an unlikely hero, Jack Daly, who is seeking more convenient employment that will enable him to look after his ageing mother - but his new job draws him into a web of political intrigue and global conspiracy.
His new job? To convince the media that the increased incidence of severe weather is simply global warming - and nothing to do with the government's attempts to manipulate the weather.
Larner tells Commercial Motor: "I've already started work on Deathbed Confessions [a sequel]. However, mixing a responsible full-time job with my interest in writing means [it] will not be published for another year."
Lost In A Hurricane will be reviewed in a forthcoming issue of CM, and is available from the publisher or from Amazon
