Seafield Logistics sees profit and turnover rise

Tuesday 16 February 2010 00:00

Seafield Logistics says it is now moving in "the right direction" after revealing a rise in turnover and profit for the year ended 30 June 2009.

The Worksop, Nottinghamshire-based company saw its turnover rise to £23.3m, from £19.3m in the previous financial year, and pre-tax profit increase from £34,440 to £150,641.

However, 2009 marked the first year that contributions from Ken Thomas and Ken Thomas Logistics were incorporated into the results, which were folded into Seafield on 1 July 2008.

It is a performance that managing director Mark Strong says he is relatively happy with: "We have had to reduce some costs. We are getting smarter with what we do and we are trying to do more with less."
