Transport Exchange, parent company to online backload services Haulage Exchange and Courier Exchange, is to role out separate exchange sites for specialist operators.
This summer, Haulage Exchange will role out a backloads services for flat load specialists in the construction industry operating flat bed trailers.
This will be followed by sites targeted at ADR specialists and those in the refrigerated market. Sites for further sectors are expected later in the year.
Luke Davies, Haulage Exchange operations manager, tells roadtransport.com that specialist sites for backload trading will roll out based on the demands of members.
"It has always been part of our plans to provide this service and over the course of the year we have had lots of requests from members who run flat vehicles - there is definitely a demand where there wasn't one before," Davies says.
"The guys who run flats are in the building industry, which has been particularly tough. But they are always looking for return work so they don't have to run the vehicles just one way, and this service will be there for when the better times come through," he adds.
