Road Tests & Reviews: Iveco Trakker (2005 - )Euro 5

The Trakker arrived last spring with a range of three axle configurations, two engines, three weight categories and three cab options. It is also available as a 6x4 tractor. The day and sleeper cabs come with the choice of a standard or high roof.

More significant, however, is the introduction of single-reduction axles, replacing the hub-reduction units previously fitted to all Trakker models for improved road running and fuel economy.

This move should, as the Stralis did, bring Trakker into the domain for just about all aggregate and muckaway operators.

All the engines are SCR Euro-5, and the earliest arrivals are starting to appear in the UK. This year should see its big push and first roadtest in CM. It's too early to judge on its weak points yet.

Pros:

  • Engines
  • Cabs
  • Product Potential

Cons:

  • None yet
