Road Tests & Reviews: Vauxhall Combo

Road Tests:

Bringing new levels of refinement and build quality to the sector was never going to be an easy task but Vauxhall has succeeded with its highly impressive Corsavan.

The company has made much of the little hatchback's driving credentials and for once the marketing hype has proved more than justified thanks to a sweet chassis that remains composed no matter what the road conditions, a smooth-as-silk engine and precise steering.

However, the extra-long side doors require caution when opening and they don't lock out as well as you might like.
At the other end of the timeline the Combo van continues to deliver, although it is getting a bit long in the tooth to battle with the likes of Ford and Volkswagen for outright supremacy. But with an ultra-modern range of engines, well designed load area and functional cabin it does enough to remain in the running.

Pros:

  • Combo has a well designed load area

Cons:

  • Combo is not as competitive as it once was
