Crafter's a Grafter
by: Julian Milnes
With the introduction of the Crafter, Volkswagen has completed an overhaul of its range in record time - but does the final piece of the jigsaw live up to its promise?

Verdict

With the arrival of the new Crafter, Volkswagen has completed the overhaul of its light CV range. Like its stablemates, this new model impresses with its overall design and attention to detail. While payload and volume are always major concerns to operators, the Crafter also shows signs of some careful design work, including excellent passive and active safety features such as crash absorption points and ESP as standard. Drivers will be equally happy with the way it drives and its practicality as a workplace. Factor in Volkswagen's famed reliability and backup from its award-winning van centres, and you have a package that deserves success.
