The Iveco EuroTech wasn't exactly the most popular wagon on UK roads, but its successor, the Stralis, is a whole new ballgame.
Verdict
The good news for Iveco is that, although there is still some EuroTech DNA lurking beneath the Stralis's modern looking skin, it doefinitely doesn't show. In fact, it's hard to believe that it's there. The fit and finish of the newcomer is in a different league - nothing squeaked, rattled or fell off.
Apart from the dourtop mouldings, and those pesky ashtrays, everything cries out quality. The red trim is a matter of taste, but it does brighten up the environment more than plain grey.
In temrs of dynamic and productive matters, the Stralis is the equal of anything else on the market: the first Iveco heavy in modern times that can hold its head high in the best company.
The ActiveTime should secure it a favoured place in the cut-throat fleet market. The bttom line is that if they can't sell this one, and make money out of it, someone should be takena way and shot.
