The Shape Of Things To Comeby: Julian Milnes
If you want to expand your product range without too much effort, it's easy to rip out the rear seats from a car and call it a commercial vehicle.
But does Kia's newly tweaked Sorento do enough to impress?
Verdict
It may have its roots in the 'lifestyle' market, but the Sorento makes sense as a CV. It has a useful amount of loadspace; it is competitive in the fuel stakes; and the overall quality of fitment, while not being in the 'hewn from solid' class, raised enough eyebrows to mark it as a success. Oh, and it's cheap.
We've tested many competitively priced vehicles from the Far East and, depending on your needs, they all have their place. but the Sorento has more going for it than its 'bargain' price tag - this one's worth a second look.
