Justin Stanton
Editor, Commercial Motor

I'm the editor of Commercial Motor. That involves establishing the forward strategy for CM, leading its various special projects, writing news and features, and proofing pages.

Previously I was editor of Motor Transport, where as well as writing stories, I chaired half a dozen roundtables a year, and fronted and played a major role in organising the Motor Transport Awards.

The links to the right show the kind of stories I write (and enjoy). I spent six hours trawling through Innovate's accounts, attempting to unravel the multi-million-pound mess of the collapsed firm; conducted a candid interview with the senior management team trying to turn City Link around; investigated PCNs; have written an awful lot about fuel prices and, more alarmingly, the future shortage; and had fun charting the life and times of Rudolf Diesel.

I've been a business journalist since 1994, and have reported on retail markets (Housewares Magazine and DIY Week) and the construction industry (Contract Journal). I was appointed editor of MT on 1 October 2007 and promoted to editor of CM on 3 August 2009.

I've been interviewed by other journalists on radio and in print, and been shortlisted for and won numerous awards. I've also contributed to Truck & Driver, Autosport, Mojo, Cabinet Maker and Brain Damage.

Away from work, I'm mad about motorsport (Brands Hatch is my local circuit), movies (I write a movie blog), rock music and comics. I also enjoy good food and fine wine as regularly as my modest paycheck will allow.
