The Motor Transport Awards has a long track record of success. It was started in 1986 and was an instant success. It has now developed to be one of the biggest award events in the country. This is its 22nd year.
Each category has its own judging panel, and the judges are drawn from the industry and chosen for their expertise. There are around 60 judges in total. The Fleet Truck and the Fleet Van categories are chosen by panels made up of leading truck and van buyers. A representative of Motor Transport chairs each judging panel but does not vote unless there is a tie.
The winners receive a coveted Motor Transport Awards trophy and can use the Motor Transport Awards logo stating the category and the year in which they won.
