Czech Out This Mystery Van

I recently took my girlfriend for a romantic weekend break in Prague. You know the kind of thing I’m talking about – sightseeing, museums, cathedrals, candlelit meals and photographing weird looking vehicles from the communist era!

Which brings me neatly onto the question – does anyone have a clue as to what this is?

What is it and why does it have Rover P6 taillights?

I didn’t notice any badges on the van, but then I didn’t spend too long looking for them either on account of being dragged off to see yet another museum!

Andrzej Bakowski:

Hi, nearly two years on you may have already found out what this van was or lost interest altogether.

Well, the vehicle is a Skoda 1203 built between 1968 and 1999 and based on Skoda car mechanicals. Later versions were called Skoda TAZ.

All the best from Poland,

Andrzej Bakowski

Andrzej - please excuse my late reply too! But that's the joy of the internet: this stuff stays up, and people can search it whenever they want.
Anyway, thanks for the information - I'm delighted that people from all round the world are showing so much interest in the blog. Don't forget to look at BigLorryBlog as well.
