Hi - I'm Toby Clark, Web Editor of RoadTransport.com. I oversee the site and blogs, making sure there's something new every day.
I've been looking forward to this for a long time - although I can't claim that a website was on my mind when I started as a technical writer for Commercial Motor back in 1992.
I got into journalism by chance - like a lot of us who write about the industry. I was a mechanical engineer to start with, sponsored as a student by the old BL organisation. Then I designed reel-winding equipment for a couple of years, before undertaking an MA in Industrial Design. Why did I join Commercial Motor? Since then, I've been Technical Editor of CM, before moving over to Motor Transport as Deputy Editor. It's given me the opportunity to drive a lot of vans and trucks, to visit a lot of depots and factories, and to see a lot of people in the industry, at every level.
