Clipper Group buys Stormont Truck & Van

The Clipper Group has bought Iveco and Fiat dealership Stormont Truck and Van. The deal by the Yorkshire-based specialist logistics services company adds the south and Midlands based dealership to Northern Commercials which it bought in December 2005.

Stormont Truck and Van, with a £50m turnover, has outlets in Northampton, Dunstable, Hildenborough and Brighton. Clipper chief executive Steve Parkin says: “Stormont is a great strategic fit with Northern Commercials and will further complement Clipper’s vehicle fleet that now has over 600 trucks, giving Clipper a competitive advantage in terms of vehicle servicing and repairs, increased buying power and fleet management capability”.
There are other acquisitions Parkin planned in the New Year with a couple close to completion.
