Today in Road Transport, 15 April 2008

It’s show time again – see our special CV Show 2008 page for links to all the breaking stories and product news, from zero-emission vehicles to the world launch of the new Mercedes-Benz Actros.

Over in the blogs, BigLorryBlog will continue tracking developments at the show following yesterday's preview post and this morning's look at the VW Transporter Sportline Kombi. And don’t forget to watch RT TV, which will be reporting direct from the NEC daily until Thursday.

Elsewhere in today’s news, business closures and failures figure prominently. Harper Haulage is set to close its doors with the loss of 20 jobs, citing rising fuel costs, while Ramage Transport is caught in the crossfire of Ramage Distribution’s collapse. However it’s better news over at Business Post, which reports a rise in turnover of 10.1% and “good growth” in its business-to-business parcels work.
