Today in Road Transport, 29 May 2008

The news in the past few days has mostly focused on the price of diesel, but today it seems that operators have another rising cost to contend with - AdBlue, the price of which could soar by at least 8% according to one of Europe's leading suppliers.

Elsewhere on the site, safety in all its forms is a major theme. Recent statistics show that transport causes 22% of all workplace fatalities; over in BigLorryBlog Will Shiers takes a look at a classic 1980s crash test showing the importance of front underrun bars on trucks; and one news story concerns a truck driver and passenger that had a very narrow escape.

Also today in road transport, Bahrain-based investment bank Arcapita eyes up Freightliner, the UK's second biggest rail freight operator; and it's third time lucky for South Wales dealership Dragon Truck & Van as it wins the Iveco Customer Service Distributor Award.
