Today's stories on RT.com highlight how running an efficient fleet and running an environmentally friendly fleet go hand in hand. Hampshire firm Boarhunt has won an 'environmental haulier of the year' award from customer NYK Group Europe following its major investment in Euro-5 vehicles, and food logistics firm Boughey Distribution is aiming to boost the life of its tractor tyres as well as its green credentials by switching to Michelin's X One MaxiTrailer tyres.

Another firm looking to increase efficiency through the right choice of kit is CM Downton; it recently bought its first MAN - a TGX 26.440 6x2 tractor unit - so it could make an accurate comparison between EGR and SGR.

And soon operators of light CVs will find it easier to choose the most environmentally friendly vehicles - van manufacturers have promised to publish C02 emissions figures for their products. However, the SMMT has expressed its concern at how the figures are derived.

Over in the other blogs, BigLorryBlog is running a 'guess the truck from its interior' competition and carrying on its look at commercial vehicles beginning with the letter 'K'...
