Today in Road Transport, 11 June 2008

Again, fuel prices dominate the news on RT.com. As TransAction plans its third fuel protest of the year - featuring an escorted drive-through of Parliament Square - the FTA urges operators to be patient, hopeful of a positive response to the report on fuel duty differentiation that it has sent to the Chancellor. Also on this theme, an operator has accused the police of heavy-handed tactics during last week's fuel protest on the M60 and M602.

Yesterday I mentioned Manchester's proposed congestion charge, and today a prominent haulier describes it as "yet another tax on trucks".

In the blogs today, BigLorryBlog goes low-tech with some truck-themed postcards and stamps, while Oliver Dixon comments on Navistar's involvement in the Belarussian market.

Finally, international development agency Transaid is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year - so why not consider helping to raise money for its good work in the developing world?

Update: In breaking news, Innovate Logistics (vehicle pictured below) has been put up for sale by its parent company Eimskip, which has cited increasing losses at the Nottinghamshire-based firm.
