Today in Road Transport, 26 September 2008

BigLorryBlog has just returned from Hannover with news of the International Truck of the Year 2009 award. Scooping the accolade for the third time was the Mercedes-Benz Actros.

It fought off strong challenges from the Iveco Eurocargo, the Volvo FH and the EGR-engined Scania R Series. The Actros was chosen by a 20-strong panel of commercial vehicle judges, who were particularly impressed with the truck's safety and comfort features.

And while you're on BigLorryBlog, why not have a crack at its vintage German truck competition? Go on, there might even be a bratwurst in it for you...
