Today in Road Transport, 3rd October 2008

Geoff Hoon MP has been confirmed as the new Secretary of State for Transport, succeeding Ruth Kelly, who stepped down from the job last week.

Don't forget to take a look at the third of our video reports from the Hannover Show, which can be seen on our Roadtransport TV page.

And have you just got a big new contract, due to start next week, but no trailers to fulfil it with? then Schmitz Cargobull's claimed five-day lead time on reefers and curtainsiders might be just the thing.

BigLorryBlog has a nice picture of an Airbus flying down the Champs-Elysees in Paris (thanks to a haulier, of course)...

...and for the voyeurs among you, there's another of BigLorryBlog's favourite transport webcams - this time from the Port of Auckland in New Zealand.
