Today in Road Transport, 29th January 2009

With massive job losses announced by steelmaker Corus this week, there was bound to be an impact on transport firms; sure enough, TDG has admitted that its steel transport volumes have seen a "significant reduction" in the past few months. TDG runs a substantial steel transport contract for Corus, using 30 hauliers including Prestons of Potto.

A Polish driver has been fined £2,000 for failing to declare dangerous goods on a ferry; mind you, it could have been worse.
