Today in Road Transport, 17 February 2009

The future of freight crime unit TruckPol is back in the news: this time a Labour MP is calling on the government to reinstate funding.

Also today - do you play music in your staff room or public areas? Be warned: you may have to pay for a licence to do so legally.

Elsewhere on the site, we can now bring you Motor Transport's list of the 'Top 100' largest and fastest-growing firms from 2007. We should have 2008's list up soon.

Oh, we've just added a Hot Topics page on 'Freight exchanges and backloads' (and if this tickles your fancy, you may like our guide to online load-matching providers).

Lastly, over in the blogs, BigLorryBlog looks forward to the Llandudno Transport Festival 2009 - and enjoys some snaps of an Oshkosh engaged in heavy haulage in Africa.
