Today in Road Transport, 19th March 2009

BERR has confirmed that hauliers are eligible for the government's Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme - though they can't use the loans to buy trucks.

If you can't buy new trucks, then at least you want to keep your existing fleet the right way up - and IRST's safety training is meant to help your drivers do that, with hands-on training in rollovers, jack-knifing and emergencies braking for truck drivers. Looks like fun!

There's more on driver training from Circle Express, which is offering training for the upcoming Driver CPC both for its own employees and to third parties.
