Today in Road Transport, 30th March 2009

As they are saying over on TruckNet: bet he got the sack...

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is - if not actually defying the recession - doing its damnedest to fight the economic downturn with a range of new products, despite what UK MD Ian Jones has said would be the worst new truck market in 100 years. In particular, the firm is lasunching a number of gas-powereed and dual-fuel models, as well as updated (Euro-5) Sprinters which should use significantly less fuel.

Incidentally, as a little experiment we tried using Twitter from the Mercedes press conference, and it seemed to work well: you'll be seeing more live 'Tweeting' from us, and you can keep up with what the Roadtransport.com crew is doing at the Roadtransport.com Twitter page.
