Wandering around the Classic Motor Show at Gaydon Biglorryblog was naturally attracted to these 'classics'. This Seddon Mk 15/0 rubs shoulders with a Leyland Lynx. At least I think that's the mark of the Seddon - no doubt BLB's anorak army (Gawd Bless 'em) will let me know if it isn't.
Ahhh the best of British. Commer diesel (I'd guess a Roots-blown two-stroke) with a mighty AEC Mandator. Can't you just hear them driving up the A1 on the night trunk to Scotch?
The roots of one great truck maker...1969 Seddon 30/4/6L with a Gardner 180 rubs shoulders with Cummins-powered Atkinson Borderer..Put them together and what happened? Another legendary British truck marque that passed into history.
Not a bad lineage of 'British Leyland' waggons. Bonneted Comet stands proudly alongside the Scammell Crusader and Mammoth Major...
Classic Swedish steel...the truck that made Volvo's name in the UK--along with the F86.
Octopus eight-legger tanker is aptly named...at least in those days they gave trucks 'proper' names!
And for one of BLB's famous pies..what are these two?

Nice to see some old motors on the Big Lorry Blog.
I think the Seddon is actually a Mark 15/10, The Michellotti-cabbed Scammell is a Handyman, The Big Cummins-powered ERF is an E Series, rather than an EC, and the two mystery lorries are both Albions. The one furthest probably being an FT model, and the closer one an underfloor engined Claymore. How's that for a pie?
