It's a while since Biglorryblog has had a quiz so for a pie, what's this truck? Who made it? What was it called? what's special about it? Who ended up taking over the company that made it? And what year does it come from? And here's a clue. It's in a certain truck manufacturer's museum in Nurnberg.
Biglorryblog's 'Name that mystery truck quiz' is back. So what is it?

Well it's a Bussing, although I don't know the model number. Could be a Commodore I guess. A superb example from the sixties and I mean superb with a huge cab (for the period) and the benefit (most probably) of an underfloor engine. Cab noise was thereby limited to tyres and wind. The marque was swallowed up circa 1971 by MAN but the Bussing lion symbol lives on I believe.
I agree it's a Bussing, but I don't think it's a Commodore, it looks more like a modification of their standard tractor unit of the late 1960's/early 1970's called the BS 19. These tractors differed from the rigid range in that their engines were in the traditional (under cab) place. The one in the museum has been heavily modified with the protuding front, so what's the score Brian? A straight 8 Gardner 240 replacing the Bussing 6 cylinder perhaps!?
