A fantastic Saab Scania family line-up photo from 1991. They don't make them like that any more Sven, says Biglorryblog.

Now here's a picture from a time gone by when special FX didn't rule and photoshop hadn't been invented (or if it had it wasn't nearly as good as this original). From 1991 Biglorryblog proudly brings you the original Saab Scania product line-up comprising Saab cars, the Saab 340 turboprop feeder liner, the Scania truck and bus and the mighty double delta wing Saab jet fighter (and for a pie what was its name?).

Alas all have been scattered to the four winds, Saab Cars ended up in the GM stable (if I recall correctly), the aero division was hived off to go somewhere else (and the double delta wing fighter has now been retired although only just) and as for Scania trucks and buses..? Well nothing was ever heard of them ever again...mmmm. Any way enjoy this fantastic coming together (it's all about timing Sven!) at an aerodrome somewhere in Sweden. They don't make them like that anymore!

(And BLB's thanks to the excellent Scania image bank for this gem)

I think the jet fighter is a Saab Viggen.

Ermm... I think you paint a slight darker picture than reality. They are very much alive and kicking.

- The Viggen is still in service but is being replaced by JAS 39 Gripen.
- SAAB Still makes commercial aircraft (in Linkoping)
- In fact they may have even widened their product range. Today they make everything from underwater equipment to space ship tech.

Saab Aerostructures
Saab Aerosystems
Saab Aerotech
Saab Aircraft Leasing
Saab Avitronics
Saab Barracuda
Saab Bofors Dynamics
Saab Communication
Saab Grintek
Saab Microwave Systems
Saab Space
Saab Systems
Saab Training Systems
Saab TransponderTech
Saab Underwater Systems
Combitech
Gripen International

ah and then of course Scania trucks and buses :)
