Biglorryblog commands....and Biglorryblog readers obey! Having idly wondered whether there are any decent trucksite web cams around the place my old Kiwi mucker Rod Simmonds [Oi! less of the old] has recommended the excellent webcam at Axis Intermodal's Bledisloe terminal to the west of the Port of Auckland. Not bad, not bad at all says BLB, as you can see from these two screen grabs. However, the webcams are much more 'real-time'.

Indeed you can not only see what's happening at the site but track your truck's time in the terminal too. And accompanying this picture above was the impressive statistic that: "At 06.46 on 20/11/2007 truck turnaround for Bledisloe for the last 07 trucks is 16 mins 2 secs"!!!!! Impressive or what? Eat your heart our Felixstowe and Southampton.

Meanwhile Rod's message to BLB is: "Given big brother is watching damned near everything, try this..." Ahh come off it mate, this has got big lorries in it! And for more great Axis Intermodal webcam sites click through here!

Along with Bledisloe, Axis Intermodal's Fergusson container site is New Zealand's largest container terminal handling over 300,000 TEU per annum and is located at the eastern end of the port of Auckland. It currently provides 25 hectares of one stop shop container terminal facility with five ship-to-shore cranes.
Like Bledisloe it has its own webcams (there's screen grab from one fo them above) which you can see via this link.
And on that site you'll find more webcams of Axis sites. Top stuff and great for Kiwi truck spotting too!

Impressive stuff indeed! Well done Rod and BLB. Nice to be able to take a look at some neat foreign trucks from the comfort of one's arm chair!
