It's funny how Biglorryblog's memory is frequently jogged by press releases and various other bits of media ballyhoo. (It's probably a function of my age...) But I digress. Take this wonderfully-moody picture of a Geoff Gilbert Mercedes Actros reefer combo. GG is a company that seems to pop-up whenever you're talking about quality controlled temperature outfits and his company has been featured in the press, not least by Commercial Motor.
But then his wagons do tend to be always immaculately turned out and if you click through you'll find one of his 'trucks from yesteryear' And the moral of the story? Never throw a picture away (especially if its been sent to you by Ashley Coghill).

Yes it's a White Road Commander---and Geoff Gilbert had one to run alongside his immaculate fleet of Scanias in the 80s. Apparently, or at least according to Ashley, GG liked the "Yank appeal" with all the chrome parts. And why not? Of course the real question is where is it now...still alive or long gone to the great HGV elephant's graveyard?
And the reason for the GG Mercedes picture? The Boston-based company has joined Coolload, Europe's only on-line refrigerated freight exchange service.
