I'm delighted to say that having posted some stuff on the Middle-East run from Nick Garlick yesterday he's come back with some more pictures---this time from Turkey, a country Biglorryblog visited quite recently for the launch of the Mercedes PowerShift auto gearbox in the Axor---and boy the antics of various Turkish car drivers was a real eye-opener! (But that's another story). Nick says: "Note steaming brakes on the BMC pictured above"

Meanwhile Nick says: "Hi Brian, as you liked them so much here's a few more. Interested in running a few in a future issue of T&D?". Yes, BLB is on the case with that last bit.

He goes on to say: "In Saudi wrecked vehicles are left to show the result of bad driving. Great idea? You'd need faith to drive one of these!

And what was that recent comment about Ford's D-Series still being a popular truck in Turkey?

Finally here's shots of the car park in typical Turkish road house and a roadside snack bar . Thanks Nick.
Absolutely classic shots Nick. I recall seeing that same tri-axle rear end on several different types of truck when I was in Istanbul about 8 years ago and I think it was a fairly new set up at the time. I was also intrigued to learn that the Chrysler Kamyons had an all-Hino driveline although this may have changed by now. Anyway brilliant pictures. Thanks.
I think the last photo was shot in Israel - signboard in Hebrew and yellow numberplate on the van makes me think so... Have you crossed Israel by truck, Nick?
