Quick as a flash, no sooner do I get a posting on Polish trucks from Mariusz (and I ask the question as to whether the Jelcz have a TL11 engine) than Richard Stanier sends me this splendid picture and the following comment: "Good morning Brian, The old Jelcz trucks were actually powered with an engine derived from the old Leyland 680. I've enclosed a scan of one of the last civilian model heavy trucks the firm made. This is the type to which Mariusz refers, that was available with a Mercedes 340 Euro-2 Motor. It kind of looks like the Foden 4000 XL at a glance!"

Thanks, Richard although I think it looks more like an old Iveco TurboTech with a high-roof. can anyone tells us where the cab came from?

Hi. As far as I know Jelcz's cabs used in 400, like the one above, and 600 series trucks were of its own design. They were even exported (or there was sold a manufacturing license, not sure here) to Hungarian truck manufacturer CSEPEL...

Poland?

the leyland 680 engine is basiclly the tl 11 so if
saying 'The old Jelcz trucks were actually powered with an engine derived from the old Leyland 680' sure that means it is the newer verison of the 680 with is the tl11
